The Nova F 520 X is a heavy-duty, long-bed 20” jointer designed to meet the needs of the most demanding environments. It features cast-iron tables, a tilting fence, and a 108-1/4” L x 20-1/2" W table. This robust jointer is ideal for production shops, custom furniture and cabinet shops, and even lumber mills.
All SCM Jointer tables are made of aged cast-iron and manufactured to extremely precise measurements. This casting is ribbed to ensure strength and stability while significantly reducing vibrations. On the Nova F 520, the fence tilts easily up to 45° using a simple lever—unlock it, set the desired angle, and lock it back into place.
Many manufacturers use a wedge type movement on their infeed/outfeed tables. This allows the chip breaker to move away from the head as it is adjusted for more removal, resulting in splintering and poor-quality finish. All SCM Jointers incorporate a parallelogram movement of the infeed and outfeed tables. This system of four cams (one per corner of support) pivots on a radius equal to the head's, ensuring that the chip breaker remains in the correct position.
The Nova F 520 comes with a XYLENT Cutterhead. XYLENT is the quietest and most durable knife option, making it suitable for heavier cuts. It significantly reduces decibel output from the jointer. It also improves dust extraction since it produces very small chips. The spiral cutterhead shears at an angle instead of cutting head on, minimizing any rippling pattern left on the workpiece.
The Nova F 520 comes with an OSHA-approved, American style cutterhead guard. This spring-type guard always covers the unused portion of the knife and allows you to complete a pass in one go (when using a push block) without any hand or weight transfer. There are also no height restrictions with the American guard.
Optional Installation & Training
When purchased, installation will be performed by an SCM factory-trained service technician or certified dealer technician. Installation is defined as assembling the machine to its "ready-to-run" state; it does not include floor/masonry work or running electrical, pneumatic, or dust extraction services. Training will be conducted on site by the technician after installation is completed.
Warranty
SCM warrants that every machine is free of defects in workmanship and materials for a period of one (1) year beginning on the date the machinery is accepted by the customer. Belts, bearings, and common electrical parts carry a six-month warranty. This warranty does not include wearable items or maintenance required in the ordinary course of operation.
