Powermatic PF3-JR Power Feeder 1/4HP, 1-PH, 115V

The Powermatic PF3-JR is a rugged stock feeder that has been designed to provide positive, consistent feeding with all types of materials. A fully adjustable support column and arm equipped with multiple universal joints, each with tool-free locking mechanisms, make it easy to use this feeder in horizontal, vertical, or angle feed configurations. The precision-machined cast iron and steel makes the PF3-JR smooth running and dependable over the long run.

Equipped with a 1/4 horsepower, 1-phase motor, the PF3-JR is heavy-duty. Powermatic motors are rated using a continuous duty cycle, rather than a "peak" or "max developed" figure. Continuous duty motors are designed to avoid overheating, and are crucial for applications requiring consistent power output. The hefty cast iron motor case with its integral cooling fins keeps operating temperatures low through extended periods of use.

The motor is controlled with an industrial-style rotating switch. The switch has three positions: Off, Forward, and Reverse. Another lever-actuated switch on the feeder body shifts it between high, off, and low feed rates. A sealed, oil-filled gearbox transmits the motor power to the wheel drive. This oil bath gearbox keeps the gears running cool and well-lubricated. A screw-on cap makes it easy to check or refill the oil.

Non-marring rubber on the drive wheels are formulated to provide excellent gripping, wear-resistance, and resilience for years of service. The 3-1/8" x 1-3/16" wheels can be quickly and easily changed. To help contain costs, the wheels can be changed individually as needed rather than in full sets. Each roller wheel is independently suspended to insure full contact even when the workpiece is not exactly flat.

The steel and cast iron support column is both rigid and rugged. The steel columns are 1-5/8" in diameter and are precision-ground from solid steel bar stock. This assembly gives the PF3-JR 6-1/2" of vertical movement and nearly 10" of horizontal movement. The column can be swung 360° giving the PF3-JR maximum versatility on router tables, shapers, and table saws.
