Produce timber frame mortises as deep as 5-7/8" with the Mafell LS 103Ec Chain Mortiser. Unlike a hollow-chisel mortiser or router, it uses a specialized chain-and-bar assembly to cut large, deep mortises incredibly quickly and accurately. As the fastest chain mortising option with no clamping required, the LS 103Ec is ideal for timber framers, restoration carpenters, heavy timber construction crews, and any tradesmen cutting many large mortises per project.
A huge advantage of the LS 103Ec is its portability. At only 19.2 lbs. it is significantly easier to maneuver on large timbers and job sites than many competing chain mortisers. The powerful 3.4HP motor allows the user to plunge deep mortises with minimal strain. Combined with a chain speed of about 4,050 strokes per minute, the LS 103Ec removes material incredibly fast.
