Mafell NFU 50 Groove Cutter 240V

The Mafell NFU 50 is a truly unique tool. Sitting somewhere between a track saw, a router, a dado cutter, and a timber-framing machine, it cuts full-width groves in a single pass, eliminating the need to make multiple passes with a router or circular saw. The NFU 50 delivers faster setup, cleaner results, and unmatched productivity for structural joinery.

Equipped with a powerful 240V CUprex motor, the NFU 50 can easily make grooves as wide as 2-5/16" and up to 1-15/16" deep with the standard cutter head. The cutter head can bevel up to 45° for skew notches with an easy-to-read scale on the machine. There is no need to mark your work—just repeat grooves thanks to the included Parallel Guide Fence or SA 625 Side Fence (which extends up to 24-9/16").

The NFU 50 also comes with a 14-9/16" cross-cutting track, which has adjustable smart stops to line up perfectly square grooves or miter angles up to 60° (maximum depth when using the track is 1-11/16").  The groove cutter detaches from this track with the press of a button to be used freehand or with the Mafell Guide Rail System.

Comfort and safety features are paramount on the NFU 50. An easy lock release sets the cutting depth quickly, and a simple clamping lever on the machine adjusts the depth stop. The included Position Indicator displays the right edge of your groove and can be adjusted according to the scale. Cutter heads use the same Square Carbide Knives that can be rotated three times for additional use before replacing.  A powerful hydraulic brake stops the tool within 3 seconds after releasing the trigger, with a flashing LED light that signals the cutter head is still rotating.
