Leigh Super 18" Dovetail Jig

The Leigh Super 18" Dovetail Jig allows you to produce perfectly-fitted joints that are beautiful, strong, and consistently repeatable. Create aesthetic joints on furniture, dresser drawers, cabinets, and more. Designed to work with most midsize routers (1.5 to 2.25HP), Super Jigs are incredibly valuable tools to add to your shop.

Leigh Super Jigs make dovetail joints a breeze. Simply position the guide fingers to your desired joint design. With the boards in place, guide your router around the fingers to rout the dovetail joint. Rout variably-spaced through dovetails and half-blind dovetails in a variety of material sizes and thicknesses in two passes, or both sides of fixed spaced half-blinds at the same time. Super Jigs are also capable of making sliding dovetails and 5/16" & 5/8" box joints.

The Super Jig’s aluminum body is extremely strong, yet light for portability. The end housings are made of glass reinforced nylon and screw to a mounting board or workbench to secure the jig. The weight and size of the jig, along with compact accessories like the VRS Vacuum & Router Support and joinery templates, make it easy to store when not in use.

Workpieces are held securely against the non-slip 3M clamping surface by tough cam-action speed clamps. Rear and front side stops are made with tough glass filled nylon, for accurate board positioning. The rear side stop is undercut for rabbeted half-blind drawer fronts.

The Super Jig includes three bits: a 1/2" 8° dovetail bit, a 1/2" 14° dovetail bit, and a 5/16" straight bit. They are made with high quality C2 and C3 micro grain carbide for long bit life. All shanks are 8mm in diameter because they have 60% more mass compared to traditional 1/4" shank bits, resulting in superior strength and stability. A 1/2" to 8mm collet reducer is also included.
