Leigh F3 Finger Joint Template for D-Series Jigs

Add the F3 Template to your Leigh D-series Dovetail Jig to transform it into a versatile finger joint jig. Produce square half-blind joints in three basic sizes, plus eleven sizes of box joints, in stock from 1/8" to 1-1/4" thick. The F3 is ideal for drawers, boxes, desks, hinges, etc.

Rout eleven sizes of box (finger) joints from 3/32" to 1", three sizes of half-blind box (finger) joints, triple size joints, and wooden hinges. Three supplied eccentric guide bushings (one for each template finger size) simplify fitting joints by letting you quickly and precisely change the distance between the cutter and finger assembly.

This template is extremely easy to use. With the F3 mounted on your Leigh D-series Jig, simply guide your router around the template comb to rout the box (finger) joints. Then, reposition the template to rout the mating board. It's as simple as that!

Joint fit is easily controlled using Leigh's patented eBush System. Rotating the barrel of the eBush left or right, between 0 and 10, increases or decreases its active diameter. Each increment on the face of the guide bush equals a 0.002" adjustment to joint fit. Using a setting between the marks adjusts joint fit by an incredible 0.001" of an inch!

Three eBushes—e7, e8, and e10 (one for each template comb size)—are included with every F3. All eBushes mount directly to many router bases. Compatible with midsize routers (1.5HP to 2.25HP) with a 1/2" collet. Fixed base routers are ideal because they have a lower center of gravity with handles mounted to the router base rather than the motor, as with plunge routers. However, if you are proficient with the use of a plunge router, it works just as well.
