Veritas Standard Wheel Marking Gauge

The Veritas Wheel Marking Gauge is an excellent tool for general layout work. It can be used to mark across, along, and even through wood grain. Rather than tearing through wood fibers, the sharpened wheel cutter cleanly cuts through them, leaving an impeccably crisp line. The wheel cutter is beveled towards the fence, pulling the gauge against the work, and also recesses into the face for protection.

To set the gauge, loosen the thumbscrew and push or pull the rod through the body. An internal O-ring will keep light but constant friction on the rod, preventing it from accidentally slipping out. Simply tighten the thumbscrew to lock the setting.
