When you need to flatten solid wood on a CNC, you want more than a bit that simply removes material. The Freud Solid Wood Surfacing & Rabbeting Bit is designed to leave a clean, flat finish while also giving you the ability to cut precise rabbets (L-shaped recesses) along the edges of solid wood panels. You can also use this bit to flatten slabs.

What truly sets this bit apart is its replaceable solid carbide inserts. Each insert has four usable cutting edges, so instead of replacing the entire bit when the cutting edges wear, simply rotate the inserts and keep working.

Combined with Freud's high-density TiCo carbide, the TM1470 is built to deliver the kind of longevity, versatility, and consistent performance that can make a specialized bit like this a valuable addition to a busy CNC setup.
