Negative Rake Carbide Cutters from Easy Wood Tools allow you to cut resin and acrylic with confidence. Traditional steel cutters can be tricky on man-made materials because they tend to grab and catch. EWT designed their negative rake cutters to solve that problem.
Rake refers to the angle of the tool in relation to the cutting surface. While most turning tools use a neutral (zero) rake, a negative rake slopes the face of the tool away from the cutting edge. This geometry produces a smoother, less aggressive cut, making the tool easier to control and safer to use, especially on engineered materials.
There is no sharpening necessary with EWT Carbide Cutters. When one side of the cutter gets dull, simply turn it to a new side. When all sides are used, then you can replace the cutter. You'll devote more time to turning instead of spending time sharpening your tools, and you'll save money in the long run, too.
Diamond cutters are designed to create small coves, beads, and other fine details. This cutter fits all tools marked with Ci4. Be sure to double check for the correct size - it is engraved on your tool's shank!
Note: Not compatible with the Micro Easy Detailer and Mid-Size Micro Easy Detailer (these two use the Ci7 NR in Negative Rake Carbide Cutter).

They are very easy to use and work exceptionally well.
The negative rake cutters were a game changer for me.
