From the portable compact table saw to industrial cabinet saws, every SawStop Saw features the same safety technology, minimizing a potentially life-altering injury to a mere scratch. 

The secret to this safety mechanism lies in the saw blade. The blade carries a small electrical signal. When skin contacts the blade, the signal changes because the human body is conductive. This change activates the safety system - an aluminum brake springs into the path of the spinning blade, making it and the motor shut off completely. All of this happens in less than 5 milliseconds. Plus, resetting the saw is easy - just replace the brake cartridge (and the blade if it is damaged) and you’re back to cutting, with all your extremities still intact!
