Danish Oil from Tried & True is a penetrating linseed oil finish designed for fast and easy application. It slightly darkens the wood and can be combined with oil-based pigments to create wood stains. Danish Oil is commonly used by woodworking professionals on bare wood or overtop an already-stained workpiece. Ideal for wood paneling, cabinets, salad bowls, wood utensils, butcher blocks, and surfaces that come in contact with food.

Tried & True Wood Finishes are environmentally-friendly products with all natural ingredients that are safe and easy to apply. Instead of a high glossy look as seen with most conventional wood finishes, it will cure to a beautiful satin sheen that is meant to highlight the natural beauty and grain of the wood.

Made in the USA. Also available in quarts.

Helpful tip: A common misconception about wood finishes is the more you use, the better it will look. However, using too much product can result in blotchy or uneven finishes, extremely long cure times, and other problems. Tried & True products are meant to be applied extremely thin. A good gauge for this is to apply just enough product to cause a dry-to-wet color shift in the wood without making it look "wet" with oil.

Don't forget your cloths/pads!

Directions
  1. Give it a good stir before you apply.
  2. Burnish with a soft cloth or 0000 steel wool before every coat (even the first and last). The more you rub the surface, the better the sheen will look.
  3. Apply a very thin coat across entire piece with a lint-free cloth at room temperature. A dry-to-wet color change in the wood should occur. A little bit of finish will go a long way! Do not use a brush.
  4. Allow oil to penetrate the wood for a minimum of 5 minutes.
  5. Rub in briskly with a lint-free cloth until the surface is completely dry. Do this before you let the piece cure. Drying/curing issues will occur if this step is ignored. If little or no residue comes up on the clean cloth during this step, then you have used the correct amount of finish.
  6. Allow the piece to cure for a minimum of 8 hours.
  7. Additional coats will deepen the sheen and increase protection. No more than three coats is recommended.
