The Nova S520 X is a heavy-duty, 20” planer built for serious woodworking. It features a monoblock base, a work table with support rollers, and a breakthrough XYLENT spiral cutterhead technology. This robust planer is ideal for furniture and cabinet shops, flooring manufacturers, sawmills, and any production shop that needs a dependable, high-quality machine built to last.

The Nova S520 X features a precision-built monoblock base, cast in a single piece for unmatched strength and stability. Unlike bolted-together frames that can shift or loosen over time, this solid design keeps the planer perfectly balanced and aligned, even under heavy use. The result is smoother operation, greater accuracy, and a machine that’s built to perform flawlessly for years.

All SCM Planers use four jack screws with acme style threads and dust covers for maximum table support. In addition to providing a stable lifting system that eliminates sniping, the acme threads greatly increase the longevity of what is normally the most common wear item on planers.

The Nova S 520 comes with a XYLENT cutter block featuring 3 spiral rows of cutterheads. The XYLENT cutterhead is the quietest and most durable knife option, making it suitable for heavier cuts. It significantly reduces decibel output from the jointer. It also improves dust extraction since it produces very small chips. The spiral cutterhead shears at an angle instead of cutting head on, minimizing any rippling pattern left on the workpiece.

The cutterhead on the Nova S 520 features a steel infeed roller with a helicoidal tooth pattern to ensure a smoother, more even feed rate with smaller marks left behind. The steel outfeed rollers are rubber-coated for maintaining the finish of the newly-planed workpiece. Anti-kickback fingers prevent the workpiece from being shot backwards at the operator. The pressure on the feed rollers can be adjusted depending on the type of wood being processed.

Optional Installation & Training
When purchased, installation will be performed by an SCM factory-trained service technician or certified dealer technician. Installation is defined as assembling the machine to its "ready-to-run" state; it does not include floor/masonry work or running electrical, pneumatic, or dust extraction services. Training will be conducted on site by the technician after installation is completed.

Warranty
SCM warrants that every machine is free of defects in workmanship and materials for a period of one (1) year beginning on the date the machinery is accepted by the customer. Belts, bearings, and common electrical parts carry a six-month warranty. This warranty does not include wearable items or maintenance required in the ordinary course of operation.
