The L'invincibile FS 7 from SCM combines the F 7 Jointer and S 7 Planer into one powerhouse of a machine. It features a 14hp motor, 100" jointer bed, "READY" control panel, and an additional overturning fence.
Switching between jointer and planer has never been easier. The FS 7 has two buttons on the front of the machine that automatically raise the work tables and re-position the extraction hood and safety guard. These buttons are on the "READY" digital control panel. In addition to adjusting the planer table height, the user can also adjust variable speed via the control panel. It also features an automatic safeguard that reduces feed rate if it senses too much demand on the motor.
All feeding rollers are on connecting rods. A system of four cams (one per corner of support) pivot on a radius equal to the head radius. The radiused pivot ensures that the table chip breaker remains in the correct position from the head. In addition, it eliminates splintering and poor quality finish caused by other adjustment systems.
The FS 7 comes with a XYLENT cutterhead block with 3 series of knives designed to significantly reduce to decibel levels during operation. Totaling 84 plates of 15 x 15 x 2.5 mm. These knives are 4 self-locking and self-centering screw knives. XYLENT cutterheads are noticeably quieter. They also improve dust extraction because they produce very small chips.
The solid, welded base of the FS 7 undergoes a treatment called normalization, which stabilizes the metal and assures exact tolerances. All machine mechanisms are mounted, aligned, and referenced to the base. This design is super to frames that are bolted together and have no true reference point. The cast iron tables are machine polished. These castings are ribbed to ensure maximum strength and to avoid problems with tables warping or breaking during use.
