Osmo TopOil is a special oil and wax combination used as a treatment general interior woodwork. TopOil is food-safe, meaning it can be used on wooden countertops, cutting boards, serving platters, and more. It is made on a base of natural plant oils and waxes. The surface is protected against common household substances, such as wine, beer, soft drinks, coffee, tea, fruit juices, milk and water.

When dry, the finish is safe for humans, animals and plants and is suitable for children’s toys and resistant to perspiration and saliva. Oils like TopOil 3056 Clear Matte enhance the natural color of wood. 

Osmo TopOil is ideal for the protection of furniture surfaces and work surfaces made of solid wood or edge glued panels (e.g. kitchen countertops, desks, shelving etc.) in indoor areas. Also suitable for cork and OSB.

OSMO products offer a natural and environmentally-friendly alternative to wood finishing. Products are made of rapidly renewable, natural vegetable oils that penetrate the wood deeply, keeping it elastic and healthy while also preventing it from drying and becoming brittle. This allows the wood to breathe, giving it a natural protection and making it water-resistant.

*Lower temperatures and/or higher air humidity can increase the drying time. Ventilate well while drying.

Directions

Lint-Free Cloth

  1. Clean or lightly sand microporous stains. Remove old varnishes. If necessary, sand down the surface using fine sandpaper (220-240 grit).
  2. Remove dust with a vacuum or lint-free cloth.
  3. Scrub product into wood in a circular or figure 8 pattern using a lint-free cloth.
  4. Allow roughly 15 minutes for the oil to penetrate.
  5. Working with the grain, remove all excess product with a clean cloth.
  6. Allow 8-10 hours to dry before recoating. Three thin coats are recommended.

Brush

  1. With a brush, work product into wood in all directions, ensuring a thin application.
  2. Allow roughly 15 minutes for the oil to penetrate.
  3. Following the grain, evenly distribute all product on surface and remove excess. There should be no visible film; if there is, the product has been over-applied.
  4. Allow 8-10 hours to dry before recoating. Two thin coats are recommended.
