The largest and heaviest model of Oneway 2000 Series Lathes is the 2436. With 36" between centers and 24" swing, this lathe is built to handle large projects like chair legs, bed posts, and vases. A fully electronic drive package, six different adjustable leg heights, and steel weldment bed ways and ribs are just some of the features that put the 2000 Series Lathes in a class of their own.
The 2436 Lathe has a fully electronic drive package with a maximum speed of 3,000 RPM. Speed ranges are 20 - 800, 190 - 1,900, and 305 - 3,500 RPM. Changing range is easy and can be done in under a minute. Excellent torque is possible at as low as 30 RPM, with brute force available at as little as 100 RPM. Drive controls are mounted on a swinging pendant that can be moved to the headstock or tailstock for easy and safe reaching.
The 2436 Lathe features a three-bearing spindle for smooth, accurate performance. A front angular contact bearing is locked to the shaft to minimize radial and axial play, while the rear bearings float to accommodate heat expansion. All bearings are permanently lubricated and maintenance-free. The spindle nose extends about 3" beyond the headstock, giving you plenty of room to maneuver tools when working on the backside of bowls and plates.
The tailstock is built for strength and ease of use, with a 1-1/2" quill that offers 4" of travel and can be removed simply by turning the handwheel. It uses a #3 Morse Taper, which allows the use of stronger live centers and larger drills. Its rigid clamp design eliminates flex under pressure, ensuring a secure hold without requiring ongoing adjustment—while still allowing the tailstock to glide smoothly along the bed.
A strong, rigid structure is essential for accurate turning and reduced vibration. That’s why the bed ways and ribs on the Oneway 2000 Series Lathes are built from a solid steel weldment rather than cast iron. This design allows for optimal shaping and, more importantly, helps disrupt vibration. As vibration travels through the welded motor box, across the tube, and through the rib welds, it hits multiple abrupt changes in thickness—breaking it up before it can affect your work.
All Oneway Lathes feature their patented banjo/tool rest base design, created to solve problems associated with traditional cam-lock bases like deflection. Oneway replaces the regular long cam shaft with a sliding cam assembly. The tool rest is clamped into the tool rest base with a captured non-marking block. This sliding cam clamping mechanism ensures tight clamping and smooth operation.
Also available with 2HP and 3HP motors.
All Oneway Lathes are backed by a 10-year END-TO-END Warranty. This warranty covers everything: the motor, drive, belt, switches, bearings, electrics, etc.
