The Minimax SC 4E is one of SCM’s best-selling sliding table saws. It boasts a solid cast-iron structure with double trunnions and an independent scoring unit. With a rip capacity of just under 50” and a full 8.5 ft. stroke, the SC 4E can easily handle standard panels and sheets of plywood. This saw is the perfect entry-level production machine for small cabinet shops.
Along with a maximum blade capacity of 12.37” (315mm), the Minimax SC 4E also features a scoring unit that accepts a 3.1” (80mm) scoring blade. The scoring blade makes a preliminary cut designed to give the main blade a cleaner cutting path. This prevents tear out and is excellent for smooth, chip-free cuts in melamine and veneered plywood panels. Adjusting the scoring blade can be done via the handwheel on the front of the machine.
The 360mm-wide sliding table runs on tempered and calibrated steel guideways. These guides are mechanically embedded in the aluminum extrusions for ultimate stability—no adhesive used! There's also a steel idle roller on the end of the outrigger fence to make loading panels even easier.
The Minimax SC 4E includes a separate miter gauge with two flip-over stops. The operator can keep the main crosscut fence at 90° and use the separate miter gauge to do the angled cuts, saving time when mitering small panels. It also features an additional table on the slider to assist in supporting larger panels.
