Pre-Color Easy is an optional pretreatment designed to be used in combination with Oil Plus 2C, to create special complimentary and contrasting effects while allowing the optimal molecular bonding of Oil Plus 2C with the wood to remain guaranteed.

  • Colors can be mixed.
  • Unlimited creative possibilities.

ATTENTION: This product is a pre-treatment and does not protect the wood. It has to be combined with Rubio Monocoat finishing products for maximum protection.

Note: Colors shown are for reference only. Your results may vary based on species, grain, sanding, etc.

Spread Rate: 15-20 sq. ft.
Dry Time: Varies. Test with a moisture meter before and after to ensure full dry.
Dilutable: With Water
Shelf Life: 12 months
Warning: Do not allow to freeze

  1. Sand the surface scratch-free up to 150 grit. The color intensity depends on the sanding method used. When renovating, remove all residues from previous treatments completely (varnish, oil, wax, etc.).
  2. Vacuum thoroughly and eliminate remaining dust with Rubio Monocoat Cleaner or other wood cleaner. Wait until the surface is completely dry (check the technical datasheet of the Cleaner before use).
  3. Apply Rubio Monocoat Precolor Easy with a brush. Spread it out using a Red Scrubby Pad. Wipe it evenly with a lint-free cloth. Work in small areas to avoid overlapping.
  4. Allow the surface to dry for approximately 12 hours. The exact drying time depends on the foundation, moisture, temperature, and ventilation.
  5. After drying, break the raised wood fibers with a red Scrubby Pad and vacuum afterward.
  6. Apply Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C following the correct application instructions mentioned in the oil's technical data sheet. When using in combination with Pre-color Easy, it is best to use a white Scrubby Pad instead of a beige or red one for applying the oil.
